Prologue - The Alchemist

Some time ago, several months, the house got struck by a sickness. The grandchild of the Victor Orinth fell incredibly ill, most of the staff died from this illness. It was a complete mystery what the sickness originated from, only that everyone who contained it got an incredible fever and would die not long after...

Markus Orinth prayed to the gods for someone to bring a cure to save his son and his people. One day, a traveling alchemist knocked on the large castle walls, offering to help the house with this sickness that was spreading across their land. His name was Bazanov Matvey.

The lord of the house, Victor Orinth, was at first distrusted of this stranger but Markus pleaded with his father to let him help his son. So the lord allowed this alchemist to concoct a potion to cure his grandson. The boy was saved and Markus was sure that the man was sent by the divine to help his son. He then persuaded his father to take the man on as the house alchemist and Lord Orinth agreed, though he kept a closer eye on the man.

Victor Orinth and Isabelle Orinth one day simply died by mysterious means. Their son, Markus Orinth, then became lord of their house and count of their region.

Overnight the low alchemist Bazanov Matvey became steward of the house overnight and the advisor of the house.

The lord and his lady seem to have been rather absent since the new lord came into his role; leaving the new steward to handle all house business.
