Chapter 7 - The War Council

It was Frostall 6th in the year E2 587 when Regent Bazanov matvy called together a war council to discuss the matter of the Cultists and the threat in the north....

Maryelle Orinth, the first to arrive sat down at the head of the table. The lady had many long nights behind her and this council would most likely an additional night. As she sat down her younger brother Morgan joined with a new arrival named Eligius Phrixus. This man was Knight Commander under Lord Morgan Orinth and accompanied him to report his findings in the North. As the sole survivor, apart from Captain Nostag who had his eyes gauged out in the ruins in the Viscera mines, was Sir Aelius Octavus.

The meeting started when the regent, Bazanov Matvy, arrived with a scribe. As the meeting started he gave a quick recap of the previous mission in the mines. After that the good Sir Aelius Octavus explained the happenings in the mines and the news of the Markus' Gate and several towns already having fallen to these cultists.

As the meeting progressed, it became more evident that the people of Fergana had to take a stand. The regent suggested that Sir Aelius Octavus would go back into the Viscera mines and investigate the ruins for clues and possibly find a solution for the mind control.

Maryelle Orinth, Now Captain of the militant office of Fergana was ordered to go to Taernsby to protect the town against the incoming cultists. This order was not taken heartily by the Lady maryelle but quickly complied to his demand.

Then there was the threat in the North-West. A dragon was seen flying over the fallen outpost. This was get by surprised faces. For the longest time there had not been a dragon sighting in many years and now they seemed to have had returned.

Sir Eligius had suggested to wait out the reports of the scouts regarding the dragon. Snow Drendar, also present at the meeting, requested to be of assisstance in that manner....
