Chapter 11 - Dawn Of Dragonrock

After hearing from a scout who reported that the artifact might not be in the city of Dragonrock anymore, Lady Maryelle Orinth decided to gather a capable group in hopes of infiltrating the city through the old crypts that run underneath it.

Guided by Sir Eligius who traversed this path once before they made their way through the crypt without many issues, eventually though they were halted by a host of spirits. One of them, an Orinth knight from long ago voiced their discontent as the war above and the intruders below disturb their eternal rest. Speaking her name out loud for the ancestors to hear, Lady Maryelle ensured safe passage for the group, spirits paid their respects to the eldest of living Orinths and let her and her people through.

Once outside they quietly ambushed two of the guards who kept watch not far from the crypt entrance, after knocking them out they managed to reach the Regent Bazanov Matvy and the young Lord Alain, disguising themselves as the guard, leading the seemingly captured Lady and her companions to the Regent without issue.

The Regent quickly saw through their disguise and ordered an arrest, at which moment a fight broke out. The group was surrounded but they did not come too far to give up, so they fought. In the middle of the battle, the Regent took hold of young Alain and slit his throat on everyone's eyes, the Lady powerless to stop him as she was held in place by two Dremora Lords.

Then suddenly all of the mind controlled collapsed, falling unconscious, leaving only Bazanov standing. He still attempted to kill Lady Maryelle with everything he had but now greatly outnumbered he got knocked out in the struggle.

With former Lord Regent captured and Lady Maryelle holding the murdered young lord to her chest, weeping over the loss of her kin... Dragonrock was reclaimed at last, but at great costs, and with half of the Vale ravaged by this short yet taxing war, there is still much work to be done.
